Currently I am working for ABARTA Coca-Cola. They service most of Western PA, some of West Virginia as well as parts of Ohio. I’ve been working for them for almost 2 and a half years. I started off as a merchandiser in the Pittsburgh area. I would drive to different stores such as Walmart, Giant Eagle and many more grocery stores as well and stock all of the Coca-Cola products to the store shelves.
This past summer I moved into a new position, Relief Account Manager. This position was also considered my internship with the company. In some ways it was quite similar to merchandising. A merchandiser and account manager had to work closely with one another in order to get the best job done. An account manager would drive to the stores like the ones a merchandiser goes to and order the product in for that store.
Another aspect to the account manager position is small stores. Examples of small stores would include places like Dollar General and Family Dollar and gas stations like Sheetz or Sunoco. There are even family stores that we service. Since these stores have a much smaller volume the account manager was also tasked with filling coolers and any shelves these stores may have.
